The executive board of Outburst is proud to announce the official launch of the Outburst UK.

Backdrop to Outburst UK

The founding members of Outburst UK previously served on the executive committee of UK black pride. UKBP was responsible for delivering, the first black pride in the UK for members of the black lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gendered community in August 2006. 

Following the resignation of 3 of the executive members of UKBP at the beginning of May 2007, it was quickly recognised that as 3 individuals, we still shared the same commitment, energy and determination to invest in the black LGBT community. We held in common, not only the same hopes, dreams and aspirations but also the sound business principals and foundations of how a new organisation should be operationally managed.

It is with great pride and excitement we unveil the eagerly anticipated formation of Outburst UK.

1. Our shared commitment is to establish a national charitable organisation giving a platform, voice and supportive environment to the black LGBT community in the UK.
2. Our vision is to nurture consciousness, participation, self esteem and pride within the community through an annual calendar of creative events and activities generated ‘For ourselves By ourselves.’
3. Our immediate goal is to carry forward the momentum of a celebratory pride festival in 2007. Outburst UK is committed to taking forward the 2 key pieces of feedback and consultation from the 2006 event: By ensuring our Pride in sharing and celebrating our cultural heritage is a continued annual event and that the event takes place in safe environment in London.
