He has had a long involvement with the community promoting events, advocacy, communications and was involved with the Stop Murder Music Campaign from the very beginning when he was one of the first from the black gay community, along with his partner to support Outrage at the 2004 London Pride after the brutal murder of Brian Williamson, and this is reflected in the breadth and depth of the articles, networks and news on the UKBlackOut site. In the early eighties, she formed a sound sytem called Sistermatic which consisted of female DJs, as women were not given the right platform to show their skills. Sistermatic proved a great success for two decades. She is also a resident DJ at the Barnyard and equally plays on the internet radio, Playvybz. She is a director of The Barnyard Collective, a black lesbian/gay led community organisation that aims to provide a creative & social network for our integrated communities & our supporters. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Yasmin (Yaz) is co-founder of Outburst UK and was also co-founder of UK Black Pride of which she is no longer a part of. Yaz has been on and around the scene for over 20 years and established the International Black Womens' Day in 1992. Soft spoken and even-tempered Yaz brings to Outburst UK a wealth of knowledge on the voluntary sector and is our voice of reason. Yaz is a Youth & Community Service Manager and an NLP Coach. His practice specialises in black male portraits, self- portraits and studio based constructed imagery. At the height of the Stop Murder Music Campaign he was at the forefront when many would have shyed away from the demonstrations.
